My teaching philosophy

This year 2011 has become for me, a year of great growth and change. I have always felt called to teaching, it has over the years become more than a vocation but an intrinsic part of my life, crucial to my concept of my self and my worth. Over the years I have come to view my students as part of my legacy. The mark I leave on each of them is indelible, hence the quality of the change I will make in them is important. I had long ago resolved, to see the light and promise in each of them, to work through my teachings to magnify and clarify this light so that they may grow into the promise of greatness that lies in each of them. I recognise them as individuals, I see their struggles, yet I never accept second best. I push them to achieve, reconceive and grow. I aim to create not only competent professionals but critical, adaptable and self-motivated individuals. I want students who leave my class room to feel empowered. accepted and validated.
